WELCOME TO THE FARM
Welcome to our farm, a place where the vibrancy and energetic spirit of the peafowl is channelled to our organic farm. Amongst the peafowl there are many other aspects of the farm including our fruit & vegetable plot which uses only the best soil, water and of course the ideal heat from the sun. The farm is also home to our large hive of bees that create 100% organic honey every day. We greatly enjoy looking after our beloved animals on the farm including our free range chickens and cockerels. This is a place where science, passion and expertise are combined, and we are proud to be the best peafowl farm in the world.
THE SETUP
It is very important to Katara Peafowl to ensure that all of our peafowl are taken care of and kept in conditions that are far more superior to standard cages. We believe that our houses for the animals are of high quality and provide above ample space for them to walk or even fly if they wish. Unlike the traditional wooden cages, our houses are built using a steel structure with soft beach sand and are two stories high to allow the peafowl to comfortably climb on an off the provided beam
An overview of how we create our houses. Every home is 4m x 5m allowing plenty of space for the peafowl to move around. Beach sand is laid down for a comfortable surface to walk on and a beam is fitted 2m high for the peafowl to exercise.
The structure which is made from 3 inch steel tubing is welded together.
Once the framework is up it is painting and a 30cm high concrete based is constructed around the home.
Finally the roof and insulation is attached, along with the a mesh wall to protect the peafowl from animals entering.
WHERE LIFE BEGINS
The health and well-being of our animals at the Katara Peafowl is vital especially at the time of their birth. Therefore our specially designed incubation room ensures that the development of the embryo within the egg is monitored to the finest standard. After the peachicks are born, they are placed in specially designed huts to allow them to develop and become stronger in a happy and well maintained habitat. In the incubation room, we also grow our very own peafowl food which provides adequate nutrition for each bird.
THE GARDEN
As many people know, it can be difficult to grow organic fruit and vegetables in a hot climate. However, Katara Peafowl have combined science with knowledge of farming and produced delicious, fresh fruit and vegetables all year round despite the weather. Thanks to our advanced techniques, we are able to grow both fruit and vegetables in unique shapes and sizes which are pleasing to the eye.
BUSY BEES
We are proudly one of the very few peafowl farms in the world to house bees too. Our bees have been imported from all around the world and produce the most delicious and sweetest honey. Thanks to our professional setup, our bees are able to create honey efficiently.
